INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FOLLOWING MARKETS: Schools and Theater Sales-Moderate-Extensive travel-2 Positions Work with our regional offices to sell and promote our sports products. Be involved in sales demos for our newest SportStar Live product. Work with professional sales staff to demonstrate our latest equipment to coaches, athletic directors, and school board members. As an intern you will be involved in live event production, pre-game events, planning and organizing trips, coordinating and running events. This position will involve moderate travel. Large Sport Venue Sales-Moderate Travel -2-Positions Interns will be able to work with seasoned sales staff to promote, quote and propose ways to enhance the game day experience for major sports teams in the NBA, NFL, and colleges and universities. Large Sport Venue-Marketing –Moderate travel- 1 Position Travel By joining the Large Sport Venues Marketing team, you will play an integral role in the planning and execution of some of the most recognized conventions and trade-shows in the sports and corporate worlds. Your skills and talents will be challenged as you deal with different equipment and clientele throughout the internship. By collecting information from different colleges, universities, professional sports centers and convention centers, you will provide the LSV sales force with crucial details as they work to target their sales efforts. Transportation Sales-Extensive travel-2 Positions Daktronics Intelligent Transportation Systems and Aviation Markets encompass a variety of government-oriented projects including airports and airlines; bus and train terminals, parking garages; roadways and construction zones; state and municipal legislative chambers. Interns will travel extensively for product demonstrations and participation in trade shows. You will also review project specifications/plans, provide quotations to customers, track bid-letting results, and provide follow-up contact to current and prospective customers. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Regional sales staff and project managers. Commercial Sales-Extensive travel -2 Positions Work with Sign companies in the region to promote Daktronics products. Help build our Commercial business across the country. Assist our regional sales staff in generating leads, contacting current and potential customers, coordinate and attend trade conventions. As an intern you will get the opportunity to network with local and national businesses. Interns are provided the opportunity to travel extensively for product demonstrations and participation in trade shows. We are looking for candidates that have Initiative and an eagerness to learn JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (*Job Responsibilities may vary from market to market.) Learn and effectively execute activities relating to Sales: collecting data for brochures, research, pricing, sales proposals, profitable quotes, trade show/convention participation, sales presentations, lead generation, and lead tracking. During the seven month internship interns will be responsible for completing the following experiences: manufacturing, drivers qualification, marketing, trade show attendance, product demonstration, shadowing with an experienced sales person, sales trip, Toastmasters, sales management presentation, recruiting, shadow another market, internship group participation, keeping daily activities log, and securing an order. Work through the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at their accredited university and their Faculty Coordinator to arrange for credit while participating in this internship and submit a written report to Sales Manager upon completion of internship to be reviewed and kept on file. Become knowledgeable of Daktronics products by assisting in product assembly and general knowledge of product sales orientation for standard products. Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures. Travel to customer sites via air or ground. May need to drive Daktronics vehicles. Maintain a clean driving record. Regular and reliable attendance as scheduled with the supervisor. Professional and responsible work performance. QUALIFICATIONS: Internship begins January 2010; take Spring semester off from classes and work through middle of August 2010. Enrolled or recently graduated in curriculum leading to a Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to the following disciplines: Computer Science, Economics, Business, Sports, Engineering, Technology, Industrial Management, Construction Management, Consumer Affairs, Graphic Design, and/or Journalism. Completion of sophomore year. Acceptable GPA Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and calmly Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Out-going, self-motivated, flexible and well organized: Empathetic and personable demeanor. Good problem solving and judgment skills Maintain professional courteous business relationships with customers and team members. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn other software quickly Willing and able to travel, including vehicle and air travel. Valid driver's license and good driving record, may need to pass a medical exam to complete travel/driving tasks and be 21 years of age to meet DOT requirements.
