Internship Program in the School of Business

If you are here to look for the internship postings, please see the menu at left. If you are interested in how to obtain internship credit for your work experiences, read on.

One of the greatest advantages a student can have when entering the workforce for the first time is EXPERIENCE! And a great way to get experience is through a college internship. Generally, up to twelve hours of college credit may be granted for an internship. These credits count toward general electives and/or upper division business electives. However, internship hours may not be used to substitute for required courses. Documentation must also be completed before any internship credit will be considered. Please contact the director with questions.

To begin the process, three documents are required:

1. Current Resume [to be completed by the student]
2. Job Description [to be furnished by the employer]
3. Signed Contract [please contact the internship director for more information]

Internship opportunities are frequently posted on the NSU School of Business Career Center web site (http://sbcc.northern.edu). Students might also consider contacting employers directly. In either case there are specific guidelines to be followed for an internship experience to be successful.
